With the arrival of the new Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park brochures, the name change is now complete. We are officially open and promoting ourselves under the new name. The following press release is being sent to media outlets:
Nudist Club Changes Ownership and Name East Gwillimbury, ON – May 28, 2007
Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park is the new name of a club that has its roots as far back as 1972. It was then that the Toronto Helios Society first formed on newly acquired land north of Toronto.
Most recently, the property was known as The New Forest Family Naturist Resort. In a transaction that was more of a transition, the former owners sold the property to Stéphane and Linda Deschênes.
With the new name comes a new motto: Traditional Naturist Values in a Modern Setting.
“We wanted to focus on the traditional values of naturism: respect for self, respect for others and respect for the environment. Nudity is just one of the ways we live up to those principles” said Stéphane Deschênes. “In traveling the world, I observed that naturist clubs who try to be too inclusive by softening their philosophy often lose their reason for being.”
The ‘Modern Setting’ refers to amenities that meet or exceed current expectations. Fully-serviced campsites, a computerized reservation system and wireless internet are just a few of the many modern services available.
“In the mid-20th century, naturists were happy with simple facilities and the bare essentials. Today, just like textile campers, naturists expect to commune with nature without having to give up the comforts of life.”
