Most people by now have noticed the monument on the north side of Jarvis Pond that was lovingly built by Ulli, one of our members who is a very talented mason. The inspiration for the memorial cairn was the sudden and unexpected loss last year of Steve Cripps who was a very active member of the Bare Oaks community.
While we hope that all our members will live a very long life, we also recognize that we are all here temporarily. A memorial seemed like a perfect way to remember those who would always want to be here in spirit.
It is our hope that the monument will become a peaceful place to remember and reflect. Perhaps in the future, it will be further developed into a memorial garden.
If there is anyone that is connected to the park that you wish to remember, you can also commission a memorial plaque on the monument. Just contact the office for details.
