Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park has been awarded the Safe Travels Stamp Award for Tourism Region Six by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO). The specially designed stamp, created by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), allows travelers to identify governments and companies around the world that have adopted globally standardized health and hygiene protocols, so consumers can travel safely. The award, presented at the 2022 Ontario Tourism Summit at Deerhurst Resort, was voted on by consumers.
“The WTTC, in collaboration with industry partners like TIAO, created this stamp to help consumers feel safe about where they choose to spend their leisure and travel time,” said Leni Brem, Stakeholder Relations Manager at TIAO. “As tourist attractions across Ontario closed and reopened throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the precautions and dedication to public health regulations demonstrated by Bare Oaks did not go unnoticed by consumers, who appreciated their commitment to making their guests feel comfortable and safe during a very trying time.”
Stéphane Deschênes, owner and operator of Bare Oaks, believes that this achievement reflects the philosophy of naturism. “The point of a place like Bare Oaks is to make every single person feel comfortable in our environment. It’s a place to be your natural self, free from judgment or harassment. During COVID-19, we knew that in order to keep our guests safe and happy, a strict adherence to Ontario’s health and safety regulations was non-negotiable. When people felt most vulnerable, we were there for them, and we are very grateful to our guests and TIAO for this wonderful recognition.”
